When the team at Martha Stewart Weddings contacted me about blogging my wedding planning process, I was both nervous and excited.

I’ve never really been a big “wedding” person. As much as I love design, the idea of planning such a momentous occasion seemed more daunting and stressful than fun and exciting. There seemed to be expectations coming at me from every angle and I was sure that I would manage to totally blow it all somehow.

But I decided that maybe there’s learning to be done in hearing someone else’s triumphs and troubles— so over the course of the next 6 months I’ll be sharing my wedding planning stories here. I hope that they’ll be helpful (or at least amusing) to those of you planning your own wedding. I’ll be talking about stationery, cakes, dresses (ugh), location planning, guests, favors, fiancées (that’s mine above) and everything else that I’m preparing for our wedding next Spring.

Thanks to the Weddings team for having me. I’m excited to share our wedding details as they unfold— hopefully by the end of the process I’ll have managed to pull together a special day that will be a hit with our friends, family, and the two of us.
